Citi Field is really getting a headstart over the new Yankee Stadium—the soon-to-open Mets ballpark has already secured eateries from Danny Meyer, and today comes another announcement: In a joint venture, the New York Mets and Aramark have launched Metropolitan Hospitality, an operation that will manage events and meetings at the 45,000-seat stadium. With this statement come details about the different spaces available for rental.

The biggest of the spaces at Citi Field will be the 22,500-square-foot Sterling Club. Located behind home plate and between the two dugouts, this area will be decorated with rich wood tones, chandeliers, and leather seating. With a capacity of 1,600, the club will offer two dining sections, two bars, two outdoor terraces, and, of course, a view of the field. Another large space is the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, the 18,700-square-foot multi-level entrance to the stadium, which can be used for events. The rotunda will hold 1,640 people and features a Robinson statue and exhibition.

Other facilities include the 2,563-square-foot Ebbets Club lounges, the 350-person Club restaurant, an auditorium and reception area with 3,679 square feet of space, and conference rooms.

Citi Field is currently scheduled to open Tuesday, April 14, 2009.
