Cookies and other baked goods are a perennial favorite, for sure, and now there's a new provider, Big Girl Baking, which crafts artisanal treats in its Bronxville kitchen. Founders and bakers Aimee, Regina, and Jody Milano make a variety of goodies, including an array of biscotti (such as lemon-pine nut and sweet sesame polenta), as well as all-American favorites such as mocha chocolate chip cookies, ginger snaps, brownies, even a rosemary-corn shortbread, not to mention sweet and savory mixed nuts.

Prices range from $17 to $18 per pound. The company puts together gift baskets that come in three sizes and range from $50 to $100, and can also create customized selections. In Manhattan, orders can be delivered for a $15 fee; online or phone orders may be placed for shipments throughout the U.S. For New York City and southern Westchester County recipients only, the bakers' three-inch cheesecakes (with crumb and chopped pecan topping) are available at $5 per cake.
