On June 30, the New York Metro chapter of the International Special Event Society will host the 10th iteration of the Big Apple Awards. This year, the industry association is making some tweaks to the yearly ceremony. Replacing the gala layout of previous years, the event at the TimesCenter will be presented in a seated theater format, with cocktails and dinner served prior to the ceremony in the venue's auditorium and a dessert and reception to follow the award presentation. The evening will also introduce the Emerging Talent award, besides highlighting the other accolades, Hall of Legends honorees, and C.O.R.E. (Celebrating Outstanding Results from Events) awards.

Submissions for the Big Apple Awards are open and will close on Monday, May 23. Information is at http://isesnyc.com.

The first to receive the new award will be Fourth Wall Events senior project manager Morgan Steele Connacher, and the Clinton Global Initiative and Macy's Parade and Entertainment Group will be recognized with C.O.R.E. awards. For its Hall of Legends, ISES will this year induct event designer Jes Gordon of JesGordon/ProperFun, lighting designer Bentley Meeker of Bentley Meeker Lighting & Staging, and producer Jeff Kalpak of Barkley Kalpak Associates.
