* INCOMING *
1. GAGA FOR BARNEYS: The luxury department store is collaborating with Lady Gaga on a holiday campaign, which will launch mid-November. Called Gaga's Workshop, the shopping environment will be filled with limited-edition, small gift items. The efforts bring together Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of artist collective Assume Vivid Astro Focus and Thierry Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti, who will work with Barneys creative director Dennis Freedman to create the holiday experience. Barneys C.E.O.: "Because of the renovation plans and because we are moving the fifth floor men's Co-op up to the eighth floor, it just happens that we have this once-in-a-lifetime possibility this holiday season to have an entire floor vacant." 2. FASHION CALENDAR CONFLICT: For the past 10 years, the National Design Awards luncheon has been held in July. This year, it seems there may have been a little mix-up: the meet-and-greet event hosted by Michelle Obama, will be held at the White House September 13, during New York Fashion Week, which has some designers scrambling to change their plans. WWD: "This year's Fashion Design winner, Gilles Mendel, moved the date of his runway show to ensure that he can get to the festivities at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."

3. FEAST FIASCO: An email this past weekend for Diner en Blanc, a Parisian pop-up dinner making its debut in New York this month, was supposed to have provided 1,150 people with the meeting location for the August 25 festivities. Instead, 1,800 people were accidentally charged for 200 open slots because of a computer glitch. Although people were reimbursed Sunday, angry potential diners took to Facebook to express their thoughts. The Wall Street Journal:

* READER RESPONSE *
Speaking of the Indiana Sate Fair stage collapse, Call Sheet reader Eric Todd, president of BML Blackbird Theatrical Services, a technical event production company based in Secaucus, New Jersey, responded to our question about what the event industry's response should be:
"The issue most likely isn't really the roof—it was the decision making process as to evacuation. A roof coming down with nobody in harm's way is an insurance claim, an investigation, and ultimately, everyone moves on. But there is no price on human life, and, unfortunately for many there, theirs will never be the same, because they lost loved ones or suffered injury or trauma."
