The red-lit launch party at PM for men’s grooming product line Billy Jealousy had elements so suggestive, we’re afraid the FCC might slap us with a fine for this story. Fournier Communications arranged for hunky men from At Your Service staffing to greet guests (mostly female beauty and fitness editors) at the door. Each guest was assigned an escort, who took her coat, and then offered her his arm and guided her to the bar, where he ordered her a drink. Arrived alone? No problem—escorts stuck around for conversation and general flattery. And if that wasn’t enough to connote a red-light district, men frolicking with women behind backlit shoji screens certainly did the trick; their silhouettes made for sexy—if completely uncomfortable—decor and entertainment.
