Susan Holland & Company crafted an intimate—and flowerless—look for each table at a housewares retailer's dinner at Boylan Studios. Holland suspended crystal chandeliers from the ceiling just above eye level. Candlelight from and Glow Lighting Design's pale amber illumination hit the chandeliers for a subtle, glimmering effect.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine made for a visually arresting venue for a Hackensack University Medical Center event in October—especially lit in purple by Frost Lighting. David Beahm set a long table at the brand's Fifth Avenue store with rainbow-hued glasses and garden rose arrangements in deep red, pink, and cream hues. Lit softly by Bentley Meeker, the rest of the pieces were colorless or clear, and votives and tiny hand-blown glass vases filled with water hung above.
