The New York Public Library announced today that two spaces inside its Humanities and Social Sciences building are now available for event rental. Like the Celeste Bartos Forum, Astor Hall, and the McGraw Rotunda, these two areas—the Edna Barnes Salomon room and the Lionel Pincus and Princess Firyal Map Division—are located at the institution's landmark venue on Fifth Avenue and can be used for seated dinners or cocktail receptions.
Much like the rest of the library, the Edna Barnes Salomon room is an ornately decorated area with dark maple flooring, faux skylights, and artwork lining the walls. At 4,500 square feet, this section seats 325 for dinners.
The other newly available space is the Lionel Pincus and Princess Firyal Map Division, which recently reopened after a nine-month, $5 million renovation project. Restored to its former 1911 Beaux-Arts glory, the map division is appointed with gold accents, carved wood, and decorative marble and metal work. This room seats 44.
