It might be a bit chilly for hitting the links, but it also might be time to start planning summer activities and events. So you should know that the Dyker Beach and Pelham/Split Rock golf courses recently reopened after multimillion-dollar renovations, each with a variety of spaces for rental. Redesigned with events in mind, the golfing sites offer clubhouses complete with banquet halls and meeting rooms as well as patios for warm weather functions. Both properties are managed by the American Golf Corporation, which operates more than 100 golf courses throughout the country.
In Brooklyn, the Dyker Beach Golf Course, which originally opened in the late 1890s and is now a public course, offers 18 holes and a restored 8,000-square-foot clubhouse. The largest space, a ballroom that features a dance floor and views of the course, has space for 275. Also on-site are a meeting space known as the Seventh Avenue room, a 1,600-square-foot lounge, and an in-house restaurant.
American Golf's Pelham/Split Rock location is a 36-hole golf course and clubhouse in the Bronx. Like Dyker Beach, this facility is also more than 100 years old; to highlight this, the $7 million renovation included a redo of the clubhouse to play up some of its historic architecture. With capacity for 220 and a dance floor, the Pavilion is the main event space. The smaller Great Room holds 150 for receptions or 100 seated.
In addition to meetings and events at both venues, American Golf can also arrange group activities and teambuilding exercises.
