The Peninsula New York hotel, which redesigned its rooftop bar last May and opened its spa in early January, debuted its newly refurbished function rooms to event planners last week. The facelift, the final phase of a larger property renovation, upgraded the furniture, amenities, and overall look of the third-floor spaces. The five rooms and three prefunction spaces are suited to a wide variety of events and meetings and now sport interiors that reflect the decor scheme used throughout the Midtown hotel, incorporating upholstered walls, Murano glass chandeliers, and gilded mirror accents.
The largest area, the Gramercy room, overlooks Fifth Avenue, measures 1,624 square feet, and holds 100 seated theater-style or 200 for receptions. The room can also be broken into two suites or combined with an adjacent 986-square-foot foyer. The other four sections, also named for Manhattan neighborhoods—the Sutton, Tribeca, Chelsea, and Greenwich rooms—are similar in size, with the smallest holding 25 for receptions and the largest holding 40.
Like other hotels, the Peninsula New York provides on-site planners, catering, security, and audiovisual equipment and service.
