Yves Jadot Restaurant Group Debuts in New York’s Financial District With La Cuisine

Rebecca Pappas
June 19, 2014

Since September 11, 2001, Lower Manhattan has been steadily making a comeback, becoming a global model for mixed-use neighborhood success: while there are only around 57,000 inhabitants spread across 318 residential buildings, the population swells to more than 309,000 each workday. New York City's financial district is the fourth-largest central business district in the United States.

Located at 4 New York Plaza, newcomer La Cuisine opened in January 2014 in a building badly damaged two years ago by Hurricane Sandy. The original building was completely demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. La Cuisine is the 10th property of the Yves Jadot Restaurant Group, which was founded in 1995 and is best known for the Raines Law Room, Petite Abeille, and Jones Wood Foundry.

La Cuisine offers 4,000 square feet of event space and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The space is one of the largest event venues to come to the area. It has an industrial interior and contemporary feel with removable wall panels and columns by the award-winning design and architecture firm Gensler, allowing La Cuisine to accommodate events of all sizes.

With a capacity of 500 standing or 375 for a seated dinner, La Cuisine is ideal for corporate meetings, cocktail parties, fashion shows, weddings, or gala dinners. A state of the art lighting system illuminates the scene, and there are several audio options available. Wifi connectivity is also provided.

Additionally, the industrial-size kitchen can handle a variety of catering options. The menu can include different cuisines within the Yves Jadot Restaurant Group portfolio from French to Mexican and English fare. Traditional catering options, such as standard lunches and breakfasts, are also available. However, outside catering is permitted for planners who require it.

Whether you’re hosting a large corporate meeting or a small reception, La Cuisine has the in-house expertise to make any event a success in the heart of New York City.

As part of the Frieze Projects series, this year's Frieze New York art fair celebrated Allen Ruppersberg's 'Al's Grand Hotel' project, first realized in 1971 in Los Angeles. To recreate the project, a two-room 'hotel' was erected in collaboration with the Los Angeles project space Public Fiction. Two guests could each book one of two rooms—Bridal Suite (pictured) and Jesus Room—which was composed of 12- by 4-foot rental wall panels faced with MDF and covered with wallpaper.
