With a 23-year-old former Mandarin Oriental Hotel chef at the helm, Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar opened in Kendall on April 28 and has quickly proven itself as an ambitious, wine-themed eatery. Possibly the only venue in the city completely designed by its executive chef—who's also an author and a past guest on The Montel Williams Show—most of the restaurant's decor was imported from Napa Valley. It features walls mounted with wooden wine barrels, pictures of young chef Adrianne Calvo on numerous vineyard tours, a wood bar, and two screens that show everything from Cirque du Soleil to musical concertos. The menu includes items such as petite crab cakes, chorizo sliders, fillet of mahimahi, and pork tenderloins. The locale's California-heavy wine list consists of about 50 choices, all offered by the glass. Additionally, the venue can host small corporate groups for a rental fee, which includes discounted prices on regular menu items and an à la carte menu courtesy of Calvo. For meetings, the television screens can be hooked up to project video, and the facility's Wi-Fi compatibility can be accessed.
