Following the recent trend of vendors making their offices available as event spaces, audiovisual company Uplyte in Dania Beach celebrated the opening of its office/event space WhiteSpace on April 16. Completely white from floor to ceiling (and repainted before every event, the firm says), the bilevel space is billed as Broward County’s first New York loft-style event venue.
The main office area, called Studio A, is a 2,500-square-foot bilevel room with 18-foot ceilings that can accommodate 100 people on the ground floor and an additional 100 on the mezzanine level. The private room under the mezzanine can be used as a separate V.I.P. lounge for 50. Its double doors can also be left open to accommodate overflow from the main floor. Two offices on the lower level, measuring 150 and nearly 250 square feet, can be used as food prep stations or green rooms for entertainment.
Two separate staircases lead to the mezzanine level that is comprised of three breakout rooms ranging from 368 to 570 square feet, two of which can open up into each other to accommodate as many as 100 people.
Studio B, a 4,000-square-foot area connected to Studio A via the green rooms, is currently under construction and scheduled to be available in September. When complete, the open space will have two separate entrances via the glass-front offices (which can be used for pre-event cocktail receptions) and the back warehouse door.
Uplyte is the in-house audiovisual provider, though other vendors can be brought in. Rental fees begin at $1,000 for Studio A and its private lounge.
