The Bullpen, a 15,000-square-foot festival park, opened May 15 in the up-and-coming Waterfront District in Southeast. The fenced-in venue, which can accommodate 1,000, is located directly across the street from the main entrance to the Nationals Park baseball stadium. An asphalt lot occupies the center of the Bullpen, surrounded by a concession stand and two tents. The 3,200-square-foot tent houses a bar, six high-top tables, and two 40-inch flat-screen TVs. The 400-square-foot tent has a bandstand.
Nearby, there are 12 wooden picnic tables with blue umbrellas, a partially enclosed fitness area, and hidden from view, seven portable restrooms. The park is available for full or partial buyouts and remains open for rentals until the end of the Washington Nationals season in October.
