Flowers at events are often the decorative highlights, especially those tightly packed, showy arrangements with 10 types of flowers that draw attention to the foliage itself instead of its surroundings. But decor firm Flora New York—which opened in September—designs vibrant, Asian-inspired arrangements that add a simple, elegant look to an event space without detracting from the event itself. Co-founder Zachary Park says his company specializes in custom flower arrangements using "Asian sensibility expressed through contemporary styling" to work with the diverse intricacies of any venue. Co-founder and head florist Jeff Chen likes to incorporate orchids and calla lilies into his extravagant designs, and has even used 25-foot bamboo shoots combined with flowers in five-foot vases to decorate an October event for the Taiwanese government at the Hilton New York. —Jennifer Levi
