An East Village artist's loft was the backdrop for a Tina Brown-hosted book party for Martin Amis, a contributor to the editrix's Talk magazine. Not surprisingly, the event was more of a who's who of New York's media circles than a discussion of the book. But on the rainy, cold June evening the crowd didn't seem to mind.
The huge, dramatic space didn't need much dressing up. Caterer Shan Willson of Fabulous Food used a few patches of wheat grass with flowers, white votive candles and some half-empty paint bottles to create centerpieces and table accents. The existing paint splatters on the floor finished off the minimalist d?cor, and Willson whipped up an equally simple menu.
