Above the Sunset Strip in the historic Chateau Marmont, Hanes spokesperson Jennifer Love Hewitt hosted a party—overseen by Hanes' director of product PR, Jennifer Gardner—to launch the brand's new ComfortSoft underwear. Gardner worked with BNC, Weber Shandwick, and Caravents to produce the party in the storied Suite 64 (which has made a cameo on Entourage). R. Jack Balthazar created vignettes throughout the penthouse to display the new line, with products sprouting like giant flowers from huge floral displays.Caravents and R. Jack Balthazar, who designed the decor, featured pink, green, and white—colors appropriate for the first sunny, summerlike afternoon L.A. had seen in months. The Hanes logo was prominently displayed on terry throw pillows and on flower vases. DJ Sullivan spun for the crowd while attendees snacked on the Chateau's mini pizzas, crab cakes, and chicken skewers, as well as creamy cupcakes from local bake shop Sprinkles.
Models wearing the new Hanes line walked around showing off their curves. The suite featured manicures, pedicures, and massages from Nitespa. Partygoers could get tarot card readings, or custom blend their own scented oils to take home from Scentsation. And many guests gravitated out to the balcony where Suzannah Galland—who bills herself as an "intuitive advisor"—gave personalized advice on romance and careers. An aromatic mixture of vanilla cupcakes and lavender perfume wafted through the suite.
Guests left with a stylish Vineyard Vines canvas bag overflowing with goodies from the new ComfortSoft line, including matching pastel tanks, bras, and panties, along with O.P.I. nail color and Archipelago Botanicals body lotion.
