New Jersey-based acrylics company Acrilex Inc. has introduced a new way to add a bit of sparkle to lighting displays. Its Acriglas Glitter series combines colored acrylic sheets with glitter in a mix of shapes and sizes. The sheets can be placed over lighting fixtures to create a colored filter, or positioned near the fixtures to bounce and reflect beams of light. In addition to lighting, the sheets—which come in custom-blended color and glitter combinations—can also be used in signage, lettering, and a variety of other displays. They are available in three sizes (four feet by four feet, four feet by five feet, and four feet by six feet) and range in thickness from one eighth of an inch to a half-inch. Acriglas can be shipped nationwide (typically with a two- to three-week lead time), and pricing depends on the order.
