Target: Now in 3D!

Thanks to Target, for about .03 percent of the partiers gathered in Times Square this New Year’s Eve, the midnight celebration will be especially trippy.

As reported by The Daily News, the retailer is hitching its brand to the widely broadcasted event by distributing to early-bird revelers 30,000 pairs of 3D glasses, which will transform the midnight fireworks display into a glowing Target bull’s-eye. (Must have a pair? They’ll be distributed along Seventh Avenue and Broadway between 43rd and 47th Streets.) Somehow, Target has managed to hijack the Waterford-sponsored, crystal-studded ball, as well: Those who view the ball drop with the aid of Target’s specs will see the store’s logo emerging from the sphere. Dude.
