FarmShop, the latest venture from former Thomas Keller culinary director Jeff Cerciello (of Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery, and Ad Hoc), is opening in stages. The bakery and brunch and lunch service are available now; look for family-style dinners with a changing daily menu, pending approval of the space's beer and wine license in the coming weeks. Also slated to open in early 2011: FarmShop's artisan market, with cheese, charcuterie, a butcher, prepared foods, wine, beer, and housewares.
In the Brentwood Country Mart, the California menus offer dishes made from artisanal ingredients. “Everything we serve and, in fact, everything you will see at FarmShop starts with a name, a face, and a long-standing relationship that we believe in,” said chef-owner Cerciello in a release. There is room for 49 people, and FarmShop is available for catering, full buyout, and private events.
Typical menu items might include coddled eggs with smoked salmon and brioche toast; a sandwich of fresh and smoked king salmon rillettes, toasted rye bread, capers, pickled vegetables, and endive; and a family-style dinner of endive and mizuna salad followed by roast Double R Ranch beef strip loin served with farmer's market vegetables. A primarily domestic selection of boutique Californian wines and artisan beers is available.
Cerciello and his wife, Kira, FarmShop’s design director, have worked with Commune Design to create a space that is simple, rustic, and elegant. The space has Alma Allen tabletops, Heath Ceramics plates, platters, and tiles, and Matteo linen. Those items will also ultimately be available for sale in the FarmShop market.
