Recording Academy "Grammy Celebration" Official After-Party

Inspired by Bollywood, the post-Grammy ceremony event took place in Los Angeles on February 11. A massive covered decor piece in the center of the space served as a raised stage for dancers; it included a working fountain filled with flowers and was surrounded by bench seating.

Grammys Special Merit Awards

For the Grammys Special Merit Awards ceremony in Los Angeles February 9, 15/40 Productions took its cue for the lighting from the Recording Academy's invitation. The invite had a relief of an intricate pattern, evocative of, say, the style of an Indian henna tattoo in a deep wine color. The production company translated that look into the design and decor, including an ornate lighting pattern.

The Field Museum's Maharaja Ball

In October, Chicago's Field Museum hosted the Maharaja Ball to celebrate the opening of the exhibition "Maharaja: The Splendor of India's Royal Courts." The invitation and envelope had preexisting designs—typically used for Indian wedding invitations—that the museum purchased from a firm in Jaipur, India.

At the gala, guests sat to an Indian feast in Stanley Field Hall, which HMR Designs decorated to look like an Indian palace. Dinner tables were set with vases of fuchsia Asiatic lilies, and Frost's lighting cast traditional Indian textile patterns onto the walls and the saffron tents that covered several tables.Â

The InterContinental Miami Make-a-Wish Ball

On November 3, Shiraz Events turned the InterContinental Miami into a Bollywood-inspired set for the InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball. In keeping with the event's theme, an elephant made by Primetime Amusements led guests in a parade to the dining space.
