
In addition to an internal chat network and push notifications, the app included a “pinch and zoom” dynamic exhibit floor map. McDonald’s required all exhibitors to provide their content in electronic form so users could download the materials through the app.

Chicago-based TV personality Brittney Payton served as the convention's host. Each morning she presented a live show from a studio inside the event’s Engagement Center, previewing the day’s events and sharing the topics that were hot on social media. The feed aired on the screens in the main theater.

RetailNext customized the look of its virtual presenter, dressing it in the same shirt as the employees staffing the booth. As attendees stepped within a few feet of the system, built-in sensors triggered a welcome message.
