





In a move meant to get attendees to associate its soft drink with a refreshing quality—and give them an opportunity to cool off from the hot Las Vegas temperature—Pepsi constructed a waterslide.



Mattel, a new sponsor this year, created its "Crazy Combinations Lounge" based on its board game Apples to Apples with a red and green color scheme and games on every table. The company offered free apple cider to visitors, as well as a photo booth with silly oversize props and a charging station. Comedians such as Nikki Glaser and Amy Schumer stopped by the lounge to hang out and play games.

Branded bandanas filled with ice were given away to overheated attendees. The company also displayed three new Ford Fiestas.

The Pageant of the Cosmos offered carnival games with an Adult Swim–inspired twist. For "Balloonicorn in Space," participants donned a unicorn hat and had to pop as many ceiling balloons as they could.

Selected Instagram photos with the #Bonnaroo hashtag were displayed on the sides of the two main stages between sets. Instagrammers were also encouraged to submit their photos for the official fan documentary, True Roo: Fan Faces of Bonnaroo, by tagging #TrueRoo.




Austin City Limits Music Festival returned to Zilker Park in the capital of Texas for two weekends this month: October 3 to 5 and 10 to 12. Ten people were given golden bracelets that gave them special access to the Golden Porta Potty. The gold-painted single stall was air-conditioned and included Wi-Fi, an array of high-end toiletries, and a screen streaming performances from the festival stages.

The Discover Great Music Lounge served as the launch for Pizza Hut's new bacon cheese stuffed-crust pizza, and the activation offered a slew of bacon-flavored treats. The specialty cocktail of the evening was the Bakon Pepper Margarita, made with bacon-flavored vodka.

Bud Light turned Crested Butte, Colorado, into “Whatever, USA,” bringing in 1,000 fans for an all-expense-paid weekend from September 5 to 7. While guests partied, Bud Light captured every moment in photos and video that have now been used to create TV commercials and content for the brand’s social media accounts. To start the second day, YouTube star Joanna Rohrback led participants in her signature “prancercise” workout.

To play off the event's painterly theme, Neuman's Kitchen presented a colorful fondue station with a selection of sweet treats for dipping.

The premiere for DirecTV's Kingdom on October 1 took place on Venice Beach—the series' setting. The party had the air of gritty, beach-city life, as portrayed in the show, and chain link lighting patterns illuminated the party space.

Over the weekend of July 25, Disaronno took over the Capri Hotel in Southampton, New York, to host its first "Disaronno Summer Camp." For the daytime activities, which revolved around the hotel's central pool, staffers circled not only a Disaronno cocktail cart to guests, but also summer fare prepared on site by Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori from Chalk Point Kitchen.
