In Toronto, the Luminato Festival kicked off with an opening-night party at Hearn Generating Station on June 18. The event's theme was "Nature Versus Industry." To play off the former concept, guests participated in a D.I.Y. flower-press activity that let them take home framed flowers. Hot Pop Factory sponsored the crafty station.

In April, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts hosted a conference for all of its food and beverage directors in the Americas. The event, held at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, focused in part on the importance of sustainable, local, and organic ingredients in dishes served at all of the brand's hotels and resorts. In keeping with that theme, the design of the event showcased farm-to-table offerings in a farmer's market-style setup, complete with displays of colorful produce. Cyrille Pannier, executive chef at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, created the farmer's market display; he is one of three designated so-called 'wellness chefs' in the company.

Dallas-based Scentsation offers a two-hour create-a-scent event for corporate groups, which features a lesson on as many as 15 blends, describing their emotions, characteristics, and ingredients. Afterwards, participants make and name their signature scents. For a more intense teambuilding experience, the custom fragrance company also offers a similar event in a half- or full-day format. First, a master perfumer provides a brief history of exotic fragrances and essential oils. Then, in a head-to-head challenge, teams produce fragrances that will capture a target market, including naming the perfume and choosing the brand packaging. Pricing for the events is based on location, size of group, dates, and times, and is available only in Texas for 10 to 500 participants. Perfume oil rollers with custom labeling, a bottle charm, and pouch cost $7; larger spray perfumes and lotions, $12 each.

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt has launched SUMMIT Events, a new private event space in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud’s catering venture, Cuisine Boulud New York, offering an elevated experience atop one of Midtown Manhattan’s most iconic observatories.
