Room Design: Dinner

Thick, bold stripes displaying the word "Hope" served as an eye-catching backdrop for Interior Design's vignette, which was designed by Ali Tayar in collaboration with SilverLining Interiors.

Sunbrella joined forces with Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design to offer a twist on a tropical tablescape by using a monochromatic purple-blue palette with hanging leaf-like fabric cutouts, banana-decorated fixtures, and tassel-adorned chairs.

Inspired by office design, Rockwell Group and Knoll partnered to create a dining environment they billed as the “ultimate whiteboard” experience. All of the surfaces were covered with IdeaPaint, a dry-erase paint, and decorated with doodle art by New York-based artist Jon Burgerman.

De Gournay’s Le Eden wallpaper served as the backdrop for Luxe Interiors & Design magazine's tablescape, which was designed by Sasha Bikoff. The rainforest-like setting featured woodwork from Liaigre, an abundant floral overhang, and tree trunk stools.

Design firm Ingrao showcased SA Baxter’s new lighting collection with mixed metals and a copper-and-aluminum table by Paul Cocksedge.

The Architectural Digest installation, designed by Bronson van Wyck, featured a custom-printed backdrop, a bold gold-and-black linen tablecloth by Larsen, earthy light fixtures by Tucker Robbins, and bright red floral arrangements.

Architectural Digest's table settings included tribal-inspired bamboo mats, printed napkins, and napkin rings from Dransfield & Ross, with beechwood-stained black flatware by Ralph Lauren Home.

For Crate & Barrel's vignette, designers Patrick Janelle and Amy Virginia Buchanan of Spring Street Social Society used artist Zeger Reyes’s broken-plates installation as inspiration, creating a white table setting with glass cloches and custom-made seating.

Design Within Reach partnered up with design studio Icrave to create a Palm Springs-inspired setup featuring a clever divider made from black flower pots and tropical monstera leaves, along with an acrylic table topped with matte-white tableware.

Benjamin Moore and Cosentino Chicago designer Julia Buckingham presented a luxe tribute to the paint brand’s color of the year, Simply White. Cast-resin sculptures, a Murano glass chandelier, and eclectic seating options in a mix of textures gave interest to the mostly-white vignette.

The table settings included silver hammered chargers and orchid-embellished napkin rings by Michael Aram, which were provided by Bloomingdale’s.

As part of Diffa's Student Design Initiative, the event included table designs from New York schools, such as Parsons the New School for Design. The student teams worked closely with industry professionals to design installations incorporating the H.I.V./AIDS cause.

Ralph Lauren Home teamed up with lighting partner Visual Comfort to create a resort-theme vignette, which featured a living wall, teak chairs, and zebra-patterned pillows.

Designed for Modern Luxury’s Manhattan magazine, the Baccarat tablescape featured sleek black flatware and chargers, while the company's crystal butterflies fluttered around a hanging branch structure.

A grass centerpiece, along with lily of the Nile, added a touch of spring to designer Marc Blackwell’s “This Life!” installation's industrial setting, which was surrounded by a clear Lucite frame.

Echo Design's setup evoked a safari sit-down dinner with a thatched rug, canvas director’s chairs, caged pendant lighting, and a zebra pop-in guest.

The theme “Change Your Stripes" was inspired by the brand's logo that features a spotted zebra.

The design by Studio O+A and Teknion Studio took inspiration from circular forms and included orbs in gray, black, and white hung above a minimal tablescape.

Jungle-inspired dinnerware and woven mats completed the look of Luxe Interiors & Design's vignette.

For Robert Allen at Home, interior design firm Madcap Cottage created a Alice in Wonderland-style floral explosion with a butterfly-dotted boxwood hedge, trellis-patterned upholstery, and blooming wallpaper.

The tabletop featured whimsical details, including playful elephant ceramics, floral dinnerware, and greenery garland down the center of the table.

As an homage to The New York Times, designer Darrin Varden, along with Lladró, interpreted the phrase “black and white and read all over” for the newspaper's vignette with matte-black horse figurines and bold red florals.

Inspired by the lost city of Atlantis, Arteriors' tablescape featured agatelike wallpaper, which mimics undulating waves, lush tufted-velvet benches, gold accents, and circular mirrors.

To celebrate the New York Design Center’s 90th year, Antonino Buzzetta created a festive rooftop party setting complete with graffiti-covered walls, colorful balloons, and an abundance of goodies stacked high on the tables.

Kravet partnered with designer Kate Spade to create a cheerful party scene with voluminous slipcovers made from whimsical fabrics, gold-dotted plates, and gilded flatware.

Neon hearts, which are created by joining two AIDS-awareness ribbons, were the focus of Gensler and 3form's vignette, which featured Herman Miller furniture and a concrete table.
