This week's roundup includes a photo booth inspired by The Mindy Project at the show's final season premiere party in Los Angeles, cutlery-theme trophies at the Tasty Awards in Brooklyn, a Guinness World Record-breaking yoga session at Wanderlust 108 in Brooklyn's Prospect Park, and a chandelier created with kids' items at the after-party for It in Los Angeles.

The Tasty Awards, which were part of the annual Taste Talks Brooklyn, took place September 8 at the Weylin. The 25 awards given out—to honor chefs, restaurants, food media, and others—resembled chef's knives.

Traveling wellness festival Wanderlust hosted its Brooklyn edition at Prospect Park on September 10. The festival had an event that broke the Guinness World Records title for “most people doing yoga in pairs,” with more than 2,500 people participating.

The premiere party for the final season of The Mindy Project took place September 12 at the London West Hollywood in Los Angeles. The party had a New York subway-theme photo booth by L.A. Photo Party that gave guests a chance to pose with a cutout of Mindy Kaling. The event was produced by Agenc.

Bon Appétit celebrated the new inductees of its annual Hot 10: America’s Best New Restaurants list with its fifth annual party on September 6 at Spring Studios in New York. The event featured a colorful Instagram wall, complete with the event hashtag, that let attendees know where to pose for photos.

Foregoing a boring booth directory, the event featured a life-size, uneven black-and-white guide in a quirky font pulled from the magazine's design that designated where each restaurant station was located in the venue.

Diffa: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS hosted its sixth annual Picnic by Design event on September 6 at Stage 48 in New York. Linen purveyor Matouk put a spotlight on a purple sample of new table coverings by using figs and lemon fig verbena candles for its basket.

The trendy Danish concept of hygge, or happiness and well-being, inspired designers Michele Alfano and Tiago Fonseco to use elements of Copenhagen, such as a geometric, light-colored structure that could serve as a table.

The premiere screening and after-party for the remake of Stephen King’s horror film It took place September 5 at the Hollywood Roosevelt in Los Angeles. The immersive experience began during the movie screening at the TCL Chinese Theatre. Actors dressed as the character Georgie Denbrough walked through the theater, giving guests a memorable—and scary—photo op.

One wall of the party featured 3-D projection mapping that depicted the house from the film as well as rain, to give the impression that it was raining throughout the party. CBC Technical handled the event’s audiovisual production.

The focal point of the after-party was a 10-foot chandelier that referenced a scene in the film. It was made from kids’ items such as toys, bikes, stuffed animals, hockey sticks, instruments, clothing, and more.
