Not all shows during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York employed serious, high-minded concepts. Vintage T-shirt brand Junk Food partnered with Monopoly on February 15 for a playful showcase inspired by the Hasbro board game. Part of the Style360 series at the Metropolitan Pavilion, the event flaunted the apparel company's platform for emerging artists, Junk Food Art House. Monopoly money was strewn on the catwalk, and models were dressed in imitation of the game's properties—like Park Place and Baltic Avenue—and Monopoly boards.
With music from DJ Josh Madden, the runway presentation showed clothing from designers, including Andrea Valentini, Claudine DeSola for Caravan, and Boy Meets Girl's Stacy Igel. Madonna's personal trainer Joshua Holland open and close the show dressed as Mr. Monopoly.
