As part of its rebranding efforts after separating from the Regent hotel group, One Bal Harbour Resort & Spa celebrated its new children’s program with an afternoon of activities for 200 local kids and parents.
“The brand, and this hotel specifically, is going through an expansion, and we’re doing a lot of new programming to make everything [at the hotel] work as one for a complete experience from arrival to check-out,” said owner Jorge Arevalo.
The new program provides guests with a V.I.P. card upon check-in, which gives them access to amenities like beach toys, kid-friendly menu options, video games, books, and toys. The program also offers parents babysitting services and amenities like car seats and cribs.
Lara Shriftman, founding partner of event planning and public relations firm Harrison & Shriftman, staged six activities in the cabanas lining the hotel’s Cabana Green lawn. The stations included sushi rolling classes hosted by Nobu chefs, face painting, and airplane and train amusement rides. C By Me, a custom-designed clothing store, sponsored a T-shirt station where guests could decorate white Ts with jewels and iron-on designs.
The hotel provided kid-friendly foods like snow cones, ham and cheese sandwiches, and cotton candy, while alcoholic drinks were on offer for adults.
Organizers requested that each guest make an on-site donation of $10 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida.
