Town & Country Event Focuses on Parties

On Wednesday night we joined Helen Gurley Brown, Spike Lee, Peter Duchin, and Sirio Maccioni at the Hearst Tower for Town & Country’s 160th birthday. The magazine’s anniversary edition, “The Party Issue,” featured key players in the event industry and so the planning team brought in the personalities to participate in different.phpects of the event. Colin Cowie created an anniversary cocktail, master baker Sylvia Weinstock crafted an elaborate cake, Sean Driscoll (of Glorious Food) supplied the nibbles, DJ Tom Finn spun music, and Patrick McMullan brought his camera. Another article from the issue—chronicling parties in movies, books, and art—prompted the magazine to project scenes from classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Animal House, Gone With the Wind, and Disney’s Cinderella onto the walls of the room, adding to the lively atmosphere.
