Italian furnishings showroom Diva pulled off a traffic-stopping stunt last week for a multipronged celebration at the space (not that traffic near the store's Beverly Boulevard and Robertson location needs much incentive to snarl). Inspired by the works of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, designers completely wrapped the facade of the store in fabric for three days. Artistic producer Michael Venedicto used 4,000 yards of custom-made Lycra to create a flowing sculpture of panels, folds, ropes, and pleats to serve as a dramatic art installation and backdrop for a party celebrating the store's 22nd anniversary, its rebranding efforts, and its launch as the exclusive West Coast carrier and flagship for B&B Italia. More than 500 guests checked out the new designs in the B&B furnishings collection, and a DJ spun as visitors nibbled caviar and sipped champagne.
