For the third year, Deco Productions was responsible for four days and three nights of team building and break out sessions for the employees of technology company Ciena. Since the company has recently started growing and changing, the theme for the final event—an awards banquet—held at Turnberry
Isle & Resort, was "Transforming Ciena."
Carved ice centerpieces that read "Transforming Ciena" by Ice Magic sat atop tables. Chairs were covered in white spandex and lighted in a variety of colors conveying an overall futuristic effect. That effect was taken to the next level by adding multiple screens across the front of the room. As the 250 guests entered, MTV videos were playing, music was blasting and dancers on elevated platforms were shaking their groove things and really getting the party started.
The food stations were neatly placed to the side of the front doors, letting guests graze as the room filled. Enhancing buffet tables and dining tables were tiny brightly colored glow cubes. When dinner wound down the fireworks began—literally. The screens that previously showed videos were now offering up fireworks. And then, a customer appreciation video was shown. Team Productions produced a video made from footage filmed at a number of locations throughout the country and beyond. The topic— Why it was so good to work with Ciena. The company had been through a rough period and was now coming back strong. The glitz and glamour of this event reinforced the excitement of what was yet to come.
