On Feburary 12, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will open the $50 million Lorien Hotel & Spa in Alexandria. Owned and developed by the DSF Group, the 107-room property will feature a 4,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, decor by designer Vicente Wolf, and three culinary venues by noted Washington chef Robert Wiedmaier.
Located four miles from Ronald Reagan International Airport and four blocks from the Amtrak station, the Lorien will have 3,500 square feet of meeting space, including three meeting rooms, a hospitality suite, and outdoor venues. Some guest suites have 700-square-foot terraces that can accommodate as many as 30 people. A Terrace menu will offer private wine tastings, dance lessons, sleeping bags, and a telescope for star gazing.
Among the three dining venues, Wiedmaier, owner of Marcel's and Brasserie Beck, will open Brabo, a 115-seat Belgian bistro with an additional 45-seat tasting room, and a retail store that will sell wine, cheese, and charcuterie selected by the chef.
Lorien Hotel & Spa will be Kimpton's 11th property in the Washington area.
