The JW Marriott on 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue plans to finish its ongoing renovations in time to welcome a new president in the nearby White House in January. Building upon the property's $33 million update of the guest rooms, meeting space, and lobby areas that were completed in March, the historic hotel will unveil a $2 million makeover of its two presidential and two vice-presidential suites in time for the inauguration on January 20.
The suites include views of many of the capital's monuments and access to a 7,300-square-foot 12th-floor terrace overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue (with the option of a heated tent for private parties).
The presidential suites will each have two 50-inch plasma TVs, as well as a 42-inch high-definition TV. Eight-seat dining tables, with access to power and data jacks in the table, will also be on hand.
