Held at Mansion in South Beach, the fete had sexy caterwaiters in tiny kilts serving colorful cocktails—all blended with Cointreau, a bitter and sweet orange-peel-flavored liquor.
The event, produced by the Opium Group, was well attended by celebrities like The Apprentice's Heidi Bressler, Katrina Campins, and Ereka Vetrini. Sophisticated minimalism was the theme of the evening. Colossal white drapes by La Factoria provided an entrance for models as they walked the runway in Diane Von Furstenberg, Alberta Ferretti, and Matthew Williamson designs. Images of designers such as Max Azria enjoying a Cointreau blended drink were constantly projected on large screens throughout the club.
Tables were adorned with lit orange candles in martini glasses, meant to look like Cointreau drinks. Moving orange-colored, oval-shaped lights provided continual action and ambience.
New York-based Alison Brod Public Relations not only promoted the event but also created the decor, from color scheme to the decorative drink candles. DJ Eric Lapeau got guests on their feet with a variety of music, and the Opium Group's psychedelic kaleidoscope-like lighting effects throughout the club made the atmosphere feel frenetic and chic, cool and tense—just the right ambience to enhance Cointreau's image.
