In times past, business people were known to play rock, paper, scissors to settle disputes. Nowadays, adults still engage in the adrenalin-pumping children's pastime, but the context is more likely to be structured tournament play. In January 2007, the World Rock Paper Scissors Society introduced Rock Paper Scissors Events to organize tournaments for corporate events, including conferences, team-building sessions, and networking get-togethers. Two styles of rock, paper, scissors events are available: a relaxed, referee-free tournament and a formal elimination tournament with an experienced referee to judge the final matches. Prices start at $1,500 for a single evening.
