The Comedy Bar, owned by local comedian Gary Rideout Jr., is now offering a variety of teambuilding—and confidence-building—workshops focused on sketch, improv, and stand-up comedy. Groups of as many as 25 people can take a class at the Bloor Street West club, which opened in November. Rideout, a member of the award-winning troupe the Sketchersons, and his business partner, James Elksnitis, can design programs around the sketch comedy format, with a focus on teambuilding skills, or teach stand-up comedy, with the goal of helping individuals gain confidence when speaking in front of a crowd. Workshops can be created to fit a three-hour period or a full-day session.
