Following a multiyear, $15 million renovation program, the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites—directly across from Pearson International Airport—now offers 23,000 square feet of fully refurbished meeting and event space, as well as 419 renovated guest rooms and suites. “This renovation touched almost every corner of the hotel, from the lobby to our most luxurious suite, creating a stylish and comfortable respite from the hustle and bustle of Canada’s busiest airport and one of North America’s integral hubs," said Gordon Chow, general manager of the property, which also houses Bliss Restaurant & Bar.
“Our remodeled 23,000 square feet of meeting space also makes us a great destination for groups looking to host their next event. The hotel can accommodate groups as large as 960 people," Chow said of the Mississauga Ballroom. Additional meeting rooms can accommodate groups of 12 to 180.
The renovation project—completed under the direction of interior designer Anna Simone of the firm Cecconi Simone—began in fall 2008 and included three phases. The first phase saw the renovation of 268 guest rooms, the hotel lobby, guest registration, lobby lounge, and Bliss Restaurant & Lounge. Phase two, completed in 2009, included the renovation of 151 guest suites, and phase three, completed this year, included upgrades to the meeting spaces, corridors, and fitness center.
The renovations included the addition of contemporary furnishings, wall coverings, window treatments, and furniture in all of the hotel’s guest rooms and suites. The airport hotel is the first Hilton property to offer a double queen room configuration, which features back-to-back queen beds, allowing for a greater sense of privacy.
The contemporary theme extends into the hotel lobby, which has a vaulted ceiling and modern furnishings in a grey and green earth-tone palette. The meeting and conference space, which includes a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, has also been refurbished with new wall coverings, light fixtures, and furnishings.
Bliss Restaurant & Bar, designed by Cecconi Simone, offers contemporary cuisine under the direction of executive chef Jerry Nanda. The restaurant seats 100.
