Open since mid-November, the new Novotel Toronto Vaughan Centre, on the northern edge of Toronto near Vaughan Mills shopping centre and Canada's Wonderland, is a 149-room property and Vaughan’s first full-service hotel.
“We are pleased to bring Novotel’s quality services, accommodations, and contemporary design to Vaughan,” says Eric Buitenhuis, vice president of operations for Novotel Canada. "Novotel will provide the most convenient lodging option for both business and leisure guests of Vaughan Mills shopping centre and Canada’s Wonderland amusement park.”
In addition to providing easy access to two of the area’s biggest tourist destinations, the hotel is about 35 minutes from downtown Toronto and 20 minutes from Pearson International Airport.
The property has five meeting rooms—suitable for groups of 12 to as many as 360—a business centre with complimentary Internet access, and a saltwater pool and hot tub. Guest rooms include 85 king-size rooms and 64 double rooms.
The hotel's nature-inspired design is based on the four classical elements of air, fire, earth, and water. Slate and stone are featured extensively in the facade, entrance area, and patio. Additional design elements include a two-sided fireplace in the lobby, a cascading water feature on the patio, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the meeting spaces.
