Vancouver Olympics: Heineken Partners With Netherlands at Hospitality Complex

Michael O'Connell
February 22, 2010

One of the more popular destinations during the Vancouver Olympics has been the Holland Heineken House. The partnership between the Dutch Olympic Committee and the Netherlands' most widely distributed beer has taken over the 50,000-square-foot Minoru Arena, just outside of the Richmond O Zone, and draws as many as 4,000 visitors each night.

Both a party venue and a home base for Dutch Olympians in Vancouver, the house includes a store, a concert hall, a games area, a stage for medals ceremonies, several bars, and a restaurant that's been fully booked since early February. This marks the 10th iteration of the Holland Heineken House, which has appeared at every Olympics since Barcelona in 1992. Recent showings in Beijing and Turin saw 95,000 and more than 100,000 visitors, respectively, and producers expect to exceed 50,000 this year.
