The New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE), together with the Actors' Fund of America, presented its annual Parade of Stars honors at the Hilton New York on February 6. The NYSAE Foundation's Vision awards were presented to five women in the meeting industry: Charlotte St. Martin, president of St. Martin Enterprises (who was also lauded with the association's Preston Robert Tisch Humanitarian award); Susan Sarfati, the president and C.E.O. of the Center for Association Leadership and the executive vice president of the American Society of Association Executives; Deborah Sexton, the president and C.E.O. of the Professional Convention Management Association; Christie Hicks, senior vice president of global sales for North America at Starwood Hotels & Resorts; and Mary Power, president and C.E.O. of the Convention Industry Council. The honors occurred during an evening that featured a performance of Broadway show tunes by Karen Mason.
The following day at the Hilton, NYSAE hosted its We Love New York Day expo for association and meeting professionals, which included a luncheon presentation of the two Outstanding New Yorker awards, one to Mayor Michael Bloomberg and another to actress Bebe Neuwirth. Donald Trump received the Joel A. Dolci Inspiration of Excellence award.
