Love Bridge Pulse Tribute

To commemorate the 49 victims of last year’s Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando and show support to those affected, the Orlando Science Center created a community art project called the “Love Bridge” to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the tragedy on June 12. Located at the venue’s Sky Bridge, the installation features the seven colors of the rainbow in rows of four, with each row holding 49 origami hearts to represent the victims of the attack that targeted the L.G.B.T. community.

California Science Center Discovery Ball

The California Science Center’s annual Discovery Ball took place May 19. Building on the event’s body-parts theme, inspired by the museum’s new “Body Worlds: Pulse” exhibit, immersive experience company Mindride built two customized interactive stations. The team created an electronic avatar of the museum’s president as a skeleton, which welcomed guests and revealed the C.E.O. behind the large plasma screen where his image was displayed. Guests also had a chance to use the technology at the dance party and view themselves as giant dancing skeletons on a screen that served as a backdrop for the band.
