On July 24, Boston slugger David Ortiz, a.k.a. “Big Papi,” opened his first restaurant, the upscale yet casual Big Papi’s Grille in Framingham. Formerly Metro 9 Steak House, the 45-foot bar is lined with large flat-screen TVs and memorabilia chronicling Ortiz’s years with the Red Sox.
A private dining room seats 60 and a semiprivate space (favored by Ortiz and his family) seats 20. In addition to appetizer options like crispy calamari and fresh oysters, Big Papi's hearty menu also offers salads, Kobe beef burgers, steaks, chops, pastas, and seafood entrees.
