The Boston Marriott Copley Place—already one of the area’s largest conference hotels, with 1,100 guest rooms and the biggest hotel ballroom in New England—recently completed a $22 million renovation that includes the addition of new ground-floor meeting rooms, updated business suites, and a revamped restaurant.
Behind the new reception area on the first floor are four new meeting rooms: two that can accommodate 125 each and two that hold 25 each or can be combined for 50. The rest of the 65,000 square feet of meeting space remains on the third and fourth floors, including the grand ballroom, which can hold 3,640 guests.
Champions restaurant and bar, formerly on the first floor, has been moved to the second floor and revamped with a more modern look that includes 40 flat-panel televisions and a 12- by 40-foot HD projection screen. Two 60-seat private dining rooms include customizable audiovisual setups, while a semiprivate room seats 20.
Additionally, all 47 guest suites, several of which have room for business entertaining, have been updated with new furnishings, the on-site Starbucks has been expanded, and the health club and pool have been refreshed.
