In anticipation of its fifth anniversary this fall, 28 Degrees recently revamped its event space and patio and brought in a new chef.
To maximize capacity for private events and private dining, owners Carl Christian and Bill Emery reconfigured their private event space by rearranging furniture, adding additional pieces, and updating design elements. The space received additional wrap-around leather seating, marble-topped tables accompanied by leather ottomans, and updated design accents like blown glass candlesticks holding hollow wax vessels and electronic candles.
Full buyouts are available for 165 people, while a 40-seat private dining space, which is separated from the main bar with a thin curtain, can now accommodate 60 people for cocktail receptions.
Updated with new cushions, pillows, umbrellas, landscaping, and white lanterns filled with electronic candles, the patio can seat 40.
New chef William Kovel, formerly of Aujourd’hui at the Four Seasons, brings a refined, casual sensibility and Asian-influenced American food to the menu. New dishes, which can also be requested for catering menus, include pork shumai, kimchee spring rolls, and honey-glazed Peking duck. Event packages are available and include music and entertainment, passed hors d'oeuvres, and banquet dining.
