The Waterworks Museum, a 19th-century building along the Chestnut Hill reservoir, will be available for private events after its March 27 grand opening.
The museum pays homage to the three steam-powered pumping enginesโdubbed Allis, Worthington, and Leavittโthat powered Boston's water supply in the early 20th century.
The Great Engines hall will be available for rent and will hold 150 guests for standing events or 60 for seated dinners. The space offers high, Golden Age-style pine ceilings, large antique windows that overlook the reservoir, and views of the pumping engines.
The museum works exclusively with five local caterers, including the Catered Affair, Max Ultimate Food, Above and Beyond Catering, Off the Vine Catering, and the Fireplace Restaurant.
