1. SUPER BOWL 2014: New York and New Jersey are already getting pumped up to host the game. Crains New York: "An estimated 400,000 visitors will participate in the weeklong Super Bowl festivities, generating nearly $600 million in spending, according to the Sports Management Research Institute. Just 82,500 of those visitors will actually have a ticket to the game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The rest will be spending their money around town at any number of festivities."

In other Super Bowl news: Los Angeles- and New York-based entertainment production company Toast is handling concert production, talent relations, stage management, and build out of the Crane Bay for the Rolling Stone Rock Weekend in Indianapolis, which includes the magazine's Super Bowl Party February 4 and a tailgate party February 5. The company is also handling ticketing and sales, and produced a custom app for this weekend's events.
2. FACEBOOK'S BRAND TACTICS: Ad Age's latest creativity trend report looks at how brands can successfully use the social media platform to gain a wider audience and push notable campaigns, with examples from Heinz and Pfizer's Chapstick. The report looks at what brands need to do: tell a story, step into the real world, and be social and human.

3. D.N.C. PARTIES: Events surrounding the three-day Democratic National Convention begin September 1 with a party for 15,000 members of the media at the North Carolina Music Factory and continue with receptions September 2 for 6,000 people at 12 venues around Charlotte. (Venues will be announced today and each will have its own event planner.) Organizers are also planning an event at Charlotte Motor Speedway for 75,000 people September 3, the convention September 4, and an acceptance speech at Bank of America Stadium by President Obama September 6. Charlotte Observer: "The receptions will serve as the official welcome to many of the 35,000 expected visitors, and kick off more than 1,000 convention-related events."

4. POP-UP RESTAURANTS: Forbes names three notable and moveable feasts around the globe. LudoBites opened its eighth iteration in Los Angeles, which runs through February 22, and Le Cirque will have temporary sites in 10 cities, including Chicago and San Diego, beginning March 16.

5. IN-HOME PARTIES: New York-based House Party is bringing products from brands like Kraft, McDonald's, Playstation, and Courvoisier to house parties to help companies market new products in homes. 6. DAVID TUTERA LAWSUIT: A couple featured on "My Fair Wedding" with David Tutera is suing the celebrity wedding planner for tripling the cost of their reception. New York Daily News: "After bumping the Punta Cana wedding bill from $10,000 to more than $30,000, the toothy Tutera, whose client roster includes Elton John and Jennifer Lopez, didn't even provide the invitations, the flowers or a DJ."
