Open since May, Cusp Dining and Drinks in the new Hotel La Jolla includes a 1,000-square-foot private dining space on the hotelβs 11th floor, offering sweeping Pacific Ocean views. The room has audiovisual capabilities and can be divided into two smaller spaces. It seats as many as 80 guests.

The 10,000-square-foot modern California restaurant Vintana opened on the third floor of the Lexus Escondidio car dealership in May. Private dining options include the Moonlight veranda, a patio with cabanas, a fire feature, and 350 seats; Starlight terrace, a deck with 250 seats; and Crystal Ridge room, which seats 190 around a central fountain.

South Coast Winery Resort and Spa in inland Temecula recently added a 40-seat private room that can be reserved for business dinners or meetings. The property includes 76 villas that measure between 575 and 1,150 square feet, a restaurant, a spa, and a 38-acre winery.

The private dining room at chef Brian Malarkeyβs La Mesa eatery Gingham has an intricate, wood-slate ceiling, hardwood floors, and a mounted moose head on the wall. The room seats 40. A semiprivate space can seat 75. Open since late 2011, the menu offers American comfort food.

Craft beer producer Stone Brewing Company plans to open Stone World Bistro & GardensβLiberty Station in April 2013. The 22,000-square-foot, beer-centric venue will have several private dining areas, an outdoor theater space, lush gardens, a bocce court, and total capacity of 450. The brewery has also started construction on a 40- to 50-room Stone Hotel in Escondido, with two acres of outdoor event space and an expected opening in 2014.
