Here's a closer look at San Diego's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated San Diego venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to COVID-19, or they may be operating at a lower capacity. As venues begin to slowly reopen across North America, we encourage event organizers to contact the venues to verify current capacity restrictions.
The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
San Diego Symphony unveiled The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, the first permanent waterfront concert venue on the West Coast and the first bayside concert venue in the nation to be operated by a symphony orchestra. Opening weekend for the outdoor venue took place in August with this season running through Nov. 14. Set on the scenic San Diego Bay, The Rady Shell offers sweeping views of the downtown skyline and historic Coronado Island. The venue also features impeccable acoustics, top-end technology, flexible seating with room for 2,000 to 10,000 guests, and a robust food and beverage program with selections from chef Richard Blais.

L’Auberge Del Mar
This Del Mar beach resort recently completed a $10.5 million renovation project. The property offers six newly refurbished meeting spaces for a total of 15,000 square feet to accommodate groups as large as 200, with indoor-outdoor options and Pacific Ocean views. The hotel can organize team-building activities like cocktail competitions, surfing or paddle board lessons, hot air ballooning and more. In addition to elevating the event spaces, L'Auberge Del Mar's renovation also brought in new additions and updates including Adelaide, the resort's restaurant specializing in California Coastal cuisine, a pool bar, and new guest rooms and suites.

The Monsaraz
In June, Point Loma welcomed its first new hotel in more than a decade with the grand opening of The Monsaraz San Diego, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The boutique hotel has an eye-catching look with custom handcrafted tiles, midcentury-modern furniture and art. It has 92 guest rooms, including three suites with views of the hills of Point Loma, the bay and the downtown skyline. Common spaces include the hotel’s centerpiece: a 4,000-square-foot open-air courtyard accented by a live tree, locally painted and designed mural, and living plant wall. The Monsaraz’s third-floor lookout is known as Hideaway. The hotel is also home to Westerly Public House, a 60-seat concept offering beachy cuisine inspired by both Southern California and Australia.

Seneca
Opened in August, Seneca is the newest project from CH Projects (the team behind other San Diego restaurants and bars like Born & Raised and Morning Glory). The space debuted atop the InterContinental Hotel overlooking the bay, the San Diego skyline and beyond. It offers a private dining room with space for 15. The menu draws from Roman classics, also pulling inspiration from San Diego’s local seafood. Designed by New York-based design firm AvroKO, Seneca’s design was inspired by nautical mess halls that foster a sense of community on ships.

Young Blood
Also from CH Projects, Young Blood opened in spring 2021. The cocktail bar, with a capacity of 25 for events, is located within the group’s original concept, Neighborhood, which also underwent a refresh this year. The immersive cocktail experience allows guests to tailor the menu to reflect their personal preferences: Guided through a progressive menu by a team of Young Blood’s bartenders, guests can expect a multicourse cocktail experience. Young Blood features a modular bar console that can shift as needed. Designed by New York-based Home Studios, the intimate 16-seat bar is flanked by ceiling-height bar shelves, custom lighting, Parisian carpet and gold accents.

Tappers Mini Golf & Cocktails
Tappers Mini Golf & Cocktails opened two mini golf courses in September: the Gator and Gopher courses. Adjacent to The Loma Club's Clubhouse and patio and framing the entrance of the nine-hole walking golf course, Tappers is an additional golfing activity at the club that elevates and updates the experience for the modern era (think: cocktails); it’s not a rebranding of the historic golf course, live music venue, and social club. Co-operator Oliver Mahoney, a top mini golf builder in the United Kingdom, designed both courses, each with nine holes. The Loma Club's Clubhouse is also currently undergoing refurbishment. Groups of two to six can book tee times.
