The NBA’s annual blowout is going down in Vegas this weekend. Here are some event highlights:
T-Mobile Sidekick 3 is hosting a party for its “D-Wade” edition featuring a performance by the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am, and DJ AM will spin. For its theme, T-Mobile is channeling Miami’s South Beach in the desert in honor of its partnership with the Miami Heat’s star guard. Guests will find white sand, palm trees, tropical gardens, shallow pools, and cascading waterfalls at the T-Mobile tent next to the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday.
Maxim and presenting sponsor Dodge Avenger are planning a party hosted by b-baller and Best Damn Sports Show Period host John Salley on Saturday. Seven contestants—folks who guessed nearest to the accurate number of basketballs in Dodge’s display at Treasure Island earlier this week—will face off in a basketball-related trivia challenge to win a chance to sink a long shot for a $1 million prize. Athletes and celebrity guests are expected to watch from the Tangerine Club that overlooks the event at Treasure Island.
Piggybacking on the game to promote its Air Jordan XX2 sneaker, Nike’s Jordan brand will invite guests to what its publicists from BNC are billing as a “highly exclusive Air Jordan Area XX2,” a launch party with DJ D-Nice spinning, on Friday.
And Full Picture is coordinating a poker tournament with Vitaminwater and 50 Cent at the MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Lounge. Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, and LL Cool J are among the expected guests.
