The Four Seasons Hotel Miami recently received the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's "one palm" designation (the program goes up to "three palms"), making it South Florida's first green hotel. The award certifies that they have set and adopted strict guidelines in the areas of energy and water conservation, waste management, and clean-air practices. Not content to stop there, the hotel has now set its sights on the "two palm" designation and has been encouraging other hotels to follow suit.
