Hallendale, Florida-based Uplyte recently debuted new mini LEDs that can be submerged in water and, according to the audiovisual and lighting company, have twice the brightness of traditional LEDs commonly used by florists. The lights are equipped with an on-off switch for multiple uses, unlike pull-tabs that can only be used once, and have a 12-hour battery life underwater. In addition to floral designs, the lights can be used to illuminate ice sculptures and fabric-covered chairs, in votives or glasses as centerpieces, or with Lucite displays. Each small light and its casing measures roughly 2 by 1.5 inches, and comes in white, green, red, blue, or amber. Lights are priced at $1.65 each with a minimum order of 10 pieces, or $1.50 each for orders of 100 or more.
